Blogging, Journalism What's The Difference?

Sometimes there is not a difference between the two and then sometimes there is a massive difference it just depends on the situation. One very clear difference is Bloggers are online dependant throughout their writing or research, Journalists may work online but the majority of their work is done through tv or radio and even newspapers. Also a Blogger tends to find information to write about that sometimes may not have been heard of and can make it into mainstream news. As well as bloggers tend to stick to one niche ( area) of blogging By either Posting about blogging tips, technology, world news e.t.c.

Journalists will sometimes report unreliable and false news too. Journalists are mainly experts with expert training and will extract information about specialised stories and subjects through their sources and interviews. With being a JOurnalist they have to go round finding facts go through all their information before reporting it, Bloggers all they have to do is set up a website or more post a couple of interesting stories, information or help and advice from time to time , include links multimedia content and a way for readers to drop comments or share the post via social media sites such as FACEBOOK, TWITTER and GOOGLE+ . Journalists do from time to time blog about certain information to go into an article online , adopt a more informal approach to news reports rathe than what it is like on the television , as well as adding information to a story thats online linking or commenting to other stories based on other news material found online.

So as some Journalists may be Bloggers, certainly Bloggers aren't Journalists. In my view there is a massive difference between the two. Being a Journalist is more of a Job being paid A fixed salary and with blogging i think its more of a hobby and can be fun, even though some bloggers , blogging websites do have full time paid workers running them.

Making A Successful Blog

(Guest post by WRYM)

Many people now have a blog, and the majority of people do it just because they can whereas there are people who want their blog to be well know and successful. In this Guest Post i will be stating the key ingredients for a successful blog.

First of all you need to get on Twitter, Google + and maybe Facebook, however i dont use Facebook due to the fact i dont see it as a good tool to promote on. Getting on social media sites is probably one of the most important tips and that is because you need a way out side of your blog to connect with your viewers and the most important thing, get more viewers. I myself have done posts similar to this on my blog http://www.wereadyourmind.com

Get People To View Your Blog

There are many easy ways to get more people to look at your blog. The easiest resource to use is social media and network sites, like Twitter, Facebook and Google Mail. I tweet posts on my site every day just to keep regular viewers and so that people know when you have wrote a new post. You also need to make sure that you are getting out to the right audience and that your blog suits the people that you want to view it. For example there's no point making a blog or site for children if you are going to use really complicated words, make the text small, and just genuinely dull and colour-less.

Can't Think Of What To Write?

GRR..I sometimes have days where I have no inspiration what so ever and have no idea what to write about. I can genuinely just sit there for hours and still not come up with anything to write or blog about. So I look at other sites and blogs to try and gain ideas. I then asked other people what give them inspiration on what to write about and most just say there interests and topics that they know a lot about and love talking about.

Advertising On Your Blog

Fancy earning a little extra money while you have fun writing blogs? Why not put advertising on your site. If you approach different companies about you advertising them on your site or blog then they will realise that your in it for the long run because you where the one that approached them. Okay, you may only get about 1p per click but after time it will all add up, especially if you use more than one company because you will be earning money from more than one place.

Why Blog?

Yeah some people may call blogger's nerds or say that they have no life, to be honest about a year ago I thought the same but when you actually try it you start to enjoy writing blogs and seeing what people really think of them, and as long as you make it interesting and appeal to your audience other people enjoy your blog's to. You could write a blog on anything. Your interests or just some random idea that you came up with, it really doesn't matter as long as you try and make it worth reading. Why not have a go?

Who's Actually Going To View My Site Or Blog?

Before you even start trying to get people to your site you need to design it properly and get all of the technical stuff out of the way, like the dimensions, features and what it's actually going to be about. You need to choose a relevant domain name that you can carry on using, for example don't use the domain name music.com if after a while you'll start filling your site or blog with posts that are nothing to do with music.

You could also approach companies about you advertising them. Normally you get something like 1p per click.  This mean that you would also be making money so it's not just for fun your actually getting something out of it. To get your blog or site out there you could post on your social networking/media sights like 'Twitter' and 'Facebook' this would be a good way to get more views because more people would then find out you that you actually have a site and are therefore more likely to click the link and explore it. If you appeal to the person viewing then they will keep coming back to check out new posts. Although if you do want people to keep coming back then you need to keep updating it and coming up with new posts so that the reader has something new to read. I think it's best to do at least one blog posts a night just to keep you viewers entertained.
